Del Mar Montessori School became a member of the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) in 2020. Our middle school public forum debaters have advanced to elimination rounds and have won top awards (both team and individual speaker) at National Circuit events. Debate fits perfectly with our school's philosophy and values. We believe our students are critical thinkers. They are always questioning and analyzing.  They are natural debaters and advocates.​

Music is an integral part of the Montessori classroom. It's a beautiful way for students to communicate and express themselves non-verbally. We believe music enhances literacy, math skills, and general cognitive development. Many of our students play musical instruments. They often get together for chamber music or small ensemble jam sessions.
