Established in 1986, Del Mar Montessori School is a private Montessori secondary school in the Del Mar/Carmel Valley neighborhood of San Diego.  We implement the philosophies of Maria Montessori to create fearless thinkers. We are developing scholars with open minds and boundless curiosity.

Students choose to work independently or in groups as they explore rigorous academic topics.  They engage in reading and composition.  Subjects such as literature, math, the sciences, history, Latin, global studies, geography, art, music and physical development stem from the Great Lessons set forth by Dr. Montessori. Through activities and studies, our students learn to respect themselves, the environment, and other community members. Our field trips involve museums, concerts, hikes, historical sites, camping, and libraries.
